Question of the Day - Sunday, January 28th, 2024

The grade school we had the 2 littlest ones in taught Latin from 4th grade through 12th. It was a core component of the curriculum. It's a good foundational language to learn for most of the romance languages that are derived from it, but unless you go into a science, or history fields, there's not a lot of modern use for latin.
Yeah, I know. Not the first time someone said wanting to know it was just a waste of time. Still think it's beautiful and if I could magically know any language, that would be one I wanted to know.

Aramaic, linear elamite, sumarian, hieroglyphics, And of course the symbols on all UFOS & alien spaceships
So I could read and translate everything for myself without someone else's biased opinion.

Of course, as I know that is not possible, I will settle for being able to translate common directions found in anything that needs to be assembled 😆 🤣 😂

So either Mandarin or Swedish (if it's Ikea)?

Spanish. Why? Turns out I live right next to Mexico and have family members and friends that question my existence when they hear I don't speak Spanish.
