Today's question is from @Gill-b:
Do you use a different collective noun when referring to your poultry to friends and/or family, other than the usual English words like chickens, ducks, geese, etcetera? For example, Australians also use the slang word 'chooks' when referring to chickens; and the Afrikaans word for ducks is 'eende'. It could also be your own personal made up word, for instance: "The Patch Scratches"?
I call them "birds" or "poultry".

Chooks is in America, too; I often use it. Sometimes I say biddies, but that's if I'm mad at them - I don't know why. The ducks are "duckles" and the geese are "goggles." The geese and guineas are sometimes "goobers," but the chickens and ducks are never goobers. Birds, sexies, and guys is used often for everybody, as well.
