Have you considered taking a Genealogy test to trace your roots many generations into the past?
Referring to a voluntary one like 23 and me. :old
Much interesting information is revealed from the ongoing research.

Criminals in many states,, (not sure how many if not most) get swabbed when admitted into JAIL.
So if you are in the bad sector of society, Government already has you covered.
I have thought about doing it.
 
I will not do it because there is a question of once that information is given to that company, who own my DNA?

What do they do with it exactly? We just don't know, what we don't know does not mean they are not doing anything with it.

Also, I don't have reason to do it. Other that looking for family member might want to when there is no other way of finding that family member.
 
No. Not giving my DNA and other data to random companies and a lot of the science behind some of what they claim to be able to tell is basically nonsense.
