As often as the bananas get overripe. It's been awhile since I've seen them though, even with overripe bananas.

Not too often. Apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap always takes care of them though. Crazy how well that works.

Occasionally in the summer. I have to be very careful to cover my fermenting jars of kombucha with tightly woven cloth, secured with rubber bands. Fruit flies LOVE kombucha!
