Today's question is from @BDutch:
What do you do, or how do you feel when a thunderstorm passes where you are?
Anecdotes are welcome too.
When a thunderstorm passes through, it's business as usual, though I will pause and admire the beauty of it.

I always have a feeling of anticipation. My life is boring enough that it’s kind of exciting to have a thunderstorm. I do always make sure there’s a lighter available in case we lose power (happens more often than not).

My sister and I always like to recount a funny incident but y’all probably wouldn’t understand, so I won’t post it :).

I love thunderstorms as long as there are no tornadoes. Then you will find me in the basement, in my tornado room, possibly crying. We don't get many natural disasters here in Ohio. Blizzards I can handle. Earthquakes we barely feel. Hurricanes, we only ever get rain(if that). Tornadoes are just so spontaneous, me no likey

I love thunderstorms and I love chasing them.

I have to wear my noise cancelling headphones. I feel pure, monkey-brained fear.

Never had an issue until about 10 years ago. There was a violent thunderstorm passing over the house, and I was watching the light show through a window. Suddenly, I hear the ground right outside start to buzz and crackle. BAM! Lightning struck the ground about 3 feet from my face. I remember bolting under the kitchen island and sobbing like a baby.

The strike took out a bunch of electronics, as well.

Wow!

I actively chase storms and get stupid-close. I'd still be looking for a change of shorts, at the very least after something like that.

To me, it's just weather. I feel safe inside my home. I enjoy the power of the storm, the thunder and the glory. I'll go stand on the porch and watch the rain and sometimes the lightning. Or sit in my recliner with Sammy on my lap. I have to give him a Benadryl, the thunder scares him. Storms are only inconvenient if I have to run outside to rescue an animal or open a gate or something in the middle of one. During tornado watches we go in the basement and I feel safe there, too.
