Question on chicken tractors-

My opinon is that it's not good raising chickens on wire.It's hard on their feet and just not natural. Will

Our tractor is PVC pipe covered with chicken wire. We covered it with a tarp at night and partially with a tarp and a shade tarp during the day. The bottom is open to the grass and my husband moved it every day. The chickens walk along once they get the idea.

I don't believe it is predator proof, but we had no problems last year.. We used tent stakes to secure it to the ground.

They decimate the lawn within 24 hours, but it all grows back nice and green once it rains.
