Question on duck raising...

My ducks have a 2 level fully stocked fish pond with a water slide in between the levels and they would rather sit on the sprinklers or lay in front of the running water hose. But i love them just the same. I was told they were girls. Turns out they are both boys so no du k eggs for me.

So someone in my family told me its possible that if ducks aren't laying they could be more inbred, and that inbreeding could cause them to not lay or start laying really late.

Is this true?

I hadn't considered this kind of possibility but if its true then I should go with something else.
