I was wanting to get some wood and mandrin ducks, i had raised mallards a long time ago, but i was wondering if there were any state laws (washington) of other rule that i would need to know first. also where would i go to find the regulations? fish and wildlife?

I have no clue on your state laws but know that there are only federal laws on the Wood ducks. Some states require additional permits for wood ducks but otherwise are just protected by the MBTA (migratory bird treaty act). When you buy wood ducks the seller will provide you with a 3-186 transfer form (make sure they weren't taken from the wild) and thats the only thing required to keep them. Then if you want to sell them (or give them away, dispose of, etc.) you have to have the federal migratory bird waterfowl sale and disposal permit. which is $70 dollars annually.
