Hey Gang,
Hubby and I are in need of ideas/suggestions for nesting boxes. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. We're leaning towards trying to come up with someting simple and inexspensive to start out. We had an idea to use milkcrates. What do you think???
Thanks!

heres simple an easy.get you some 1 by 12s.an make the nests 2ftw by 2ftl.

Milk crates will work, so will 5 gallon buckets, drawers from a file cabinet, old shelves partitioned off,

Chickens dont care what they lay in(I dont think) they just seem to like a little privacy. as long as "box" is big enough for them to turn around in, and has a lip to keep eggs and nesting material in they will be happy.

We are going to use milk crates. You can't get any more inexpensive and easier than that!

Im going to use old ammo boxes that my mom used to keep yarn in for her weaving business. Always look for free junk around the garage first!

2 X 4's and plywood work well and don't cost too much.
