My children would like to start showing chickens next year for 4-H. I have gone through the database but I am unable to find an answer to this question.
When you show roosters, are the spurs to be cut short and close to the body, or do you just round off the ends of them so they aren't so pointy?
I would hate to trim off spurs and then find out I messed something up for the kids to loose points or be disqualified. Not a position a mom would want to be in.
Some of our rooster have some really seriously long spurs, and before I go wacking them off I wanted to check with "those in the know".
