Hi! I'm not new to chickens, however I know nothing about showing them..
(My chickens have always just been pets and egg layers).. My husband is away in the Air Force and so I figured since I am in the middle of nowhere by myself, that I should have a hobby... I'd love to show chickens!.. I live in Whitney Texas so any shows around Fort Worth, Dallas, Waco etc. would be perfect..
- how do I do this ?
-are there any coming up?
- are there any certain papers etc I need on a chicken?
-would "Fancy Pants " be a good one to show? I just love her . Thank you in advance

I don't know anything about showing chickens in particular (I'm only just now beginning to look for chickens to purchase for the first time next year) but I live in the DFW area, so I can help you a bit with where to show.

The biggest show I think would be the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. However, that was back in February. I was going to show my ducks there, but I wasn't able to. Now, my ducks are going through molt, lol.

I would also contact Brazos Valley Poultry Club ( http://www.bluebonnetclassic.com/ ) and ask them when their next show is. I don't really know much about them, and I don't know if they actually *show* birds, or if it's just a big group of people who show their birds with each other, or what, but I think it'd be worth checking out. Even if the shows are unofficial, it might still give you an idea on how your bird does against others.

Here's a list of all the poultry shows going on this year.
