I have a few question and I'm new to having chickens.

How old are chickens when they start laying eggs?

How can u tell they are getting close to laying eggs.

I have Easter Egger,New Hampshire red,Cornish hen that about 5 to 6 months old no eggs yet.

Is there something wrong with them?

What. Are some problems that can keep hens from laying eggs.?

How often should they lay one They start?

What problems could happen

Just questions I'm concerned about

My pullet just started laying this week. She is 19 weeks. She has laid 4 eggs so far this week. She had a couple of days break between the first and second. They are small but each one is larger than the previous one. Some pullets can take up to a year depending on the breed. Their wattles and combs become very red prior to laying. The heat can delay eggs. Could yours be laying a secret stash somewhere? They will lay when they are ready. I put hay in the coop and she made her own nest in a corner. She practised a few days before I got the first egg

It has been really hot here in California. And they may just not be old enough yet i think

Okay, I think you guys just answered my worry. I have 7 girls. They are my sweet girls, however, ever since my rooster died, about 5 of them quit laying and now, untii a couple days ago, only one (My EE) was laying.

I get my EE eggs pretty regularly, but the other EE and the rest of my girls haven't laid in about 4 months. They are just about 2 yo. Is it the end of their laying?

I know it's been hot here in Northern Cali, and I did get one light brown egg a couple days ago, but that's the only other one. I've been trying all sorts of stuff. Any ideas how to get my girls going?

Im now think i have 4 unwanted road island reds. If i don't get eggs in the next 2 months. I know i have at least 5 females for sure. Im starting to see sattle feathers...
