Hi, I currently have a batch of bantam/frizzle chicks and I am trying the egg carton method. This is my first hatch. They are starting to pip today and one has just hatched. There were a couple of bits stuck to the chick and it couldn't get the shell of it. We ended up using a q-tip and warm water to remove the shell. I was just wondering though. These are quite small chicks and the white plastic mesh on the bottom of the incubator has fairly big holes in it. I think anyway and I was wondering if they would affect their feet at all. Should I keep them on this mesh bottom? Is it ok for them?
