Question re: Pyrenees

I have a Lab mix and a furry Chow mix. Guess which one "acts" cold? The one with all the fur

unless you want to go for a walk, THEN if it's something fun to do she wants to wade in the icy puddles!!
It's funny to me, because usually the Lab is the "drama queen" about stuff, but he never acts cold.

Put a dog house so she can get out of the wind and snuggle if she needs to, but I bet she will be awake patrolling for most of the night anyway. We also have those polyfill/cedar blend pillows (I think they are the best invention ever! I just washed my covers and re-stuffed them adding some fresh cedar this year) keeping them off the ground seems to be the most beneficial when the air is still, but cold. I should know, ever tried camping without a mat under your sleeping bag? The ground sucks the heat out of you!!

I have been given a GP female, 11 months old, because she played with her former owner's chickens to death. I have taken her into the coop with my girls and she only wants out. LOL She has a dog house with hay in it and her favorite hole she dug under the deck. She only goes in the dog house when it is raining, but as soon as it slows to a light mist, she is back out, sprawled on the deck or laying in the grass. Cold doesn't seem to bother her much. She can be brown with mud and with no intervention on my part, she is magically snow white again. She also partols at night and my DH likes her so much that he doesn't mind her barking to scare away the "boogers". Right now she is barking at the neighbors that are stupid enough to think that they can go in their back yard any time they want.

Good luck with your GP/Lab mix.
