At what point does a small coop become a medium coop, or a medium a large? Floor area? Height? Some other specification? Some guidelines would be appreciated.

If this question should not be here please feel free to move it to the appropriate forum with my apologies.

I think it's completely arbitrary, if you're talking about the coop section here...
....people will put their coop build pages where ever they deem appropriate.

I'd contact a moderator to find out for sure.

Thanks, I was wondering. I have a coop page, and it's in the coop section (I think) but do I choose what size category it goes into? And if so I obviously will need to know how to 'measure' it.

Your coop page does appear to be in the coop section, but not under a certain size category.
Looks like @Nifty-Chicken is the coauthor of your page? I'd ask him.

Yeah, Nifty tweaked the title for me.

Unfortunately our current system is very manual and we don't have a very good way to look up which coops are or aren't in the indexes of coop sizes.

Fortunately we're working on a project to fix this and hope to have better organization soon!

(if anybody wants to volunteer to help with this project, please contact @sumi )

Oh, sorry, that only answered the question "where is my coop in the index".

Regarding the question about size: We have a bunch of people review the coops and based on the information provided, they rate if they think the coop is small, medium, or large. We then take the majority vote and put the coop in that section.

So, while it's a somewhat subjective metric, it's proven to be really helpful to use people's perspective on "size" since those people represent the masses that will be coming to BYC and looking for coop ideas.

Example: If the builder thinks their coop is large, but 10 other people reviewing coops think it's more "medium", then we prefer to go with the majority of people's view / perception of the size.
