If you have a chicken egg with a dark spot in middle no veins would you go ahead and throw it out

What color shell, and how many days of incubation?

I don’t know how much experience you have candling or how well you can see inside that egg, but I never toss an egg before lockdown based on candling. At lockdown I toss the clears but keep all the others even if I’m pretty sure they will not hatch. If it starts to smell, which very rarely happens, I’ll toss an egg early, but what is the benefit of tossing an egg that you are not sure what is going on inside? Some eggs are a lot harder to see inside than others.

I certainly would not advise someone to toss an egg if I did into know how long it had been incubated so you would know what to expect to see. Sometimes you need a little more information.

it's on day 22 it's been locked down a while now.2 brown 2 white but the dark spot is real tiny......I did egg Topsy on my two baby turkeys cause they weren't moving on day 30 and one was under developed and yolk wasn't absorb and the other yolk didn't absorb

It’s a chicken egg on day 22. What you should see is a solid dark blob totally filling the portion down below a very clear air cell. You might or might not see movement. If it is mostly clear with just a small dark spot at this point expect to see that it stopped development very early in incubation when you open it.

You can do the float test if you wish. Float the egg in water since it has not external pipped. Let it settle. If it wiggles there is a live baby chick inside, put it back inside the incubator. If it doesn’t wiggle on its own after a short while there is not a living chick inside. From what you describe I don’t think you need to do this but it may make you feel better about tossing it.

I see the air cell then there is a small dark blob it's real little no veins in this egg. My other chicken has dark veins at day 18.
