So a friend of mine bred a English or ping ton with barred rocks and so far ALL chick's are rumpless. How is this?

Does the friend have an Araucana rooster?

No the mixes are barred rock and ennglish orpingtons. 1 had a tail and 4 did not

There's a difference between not having a tail and being truly rumpless. Do the birds have a tail bone? If yes, they're just slow to develop tail feathers, or have more of the Orpington rounded shape. If not, one of the birds carries a recessive rumpless gene.

They are fully feathered birds about 3 months with no tails. I didn't bother asking about tail bones. I'll ask

OK they are tailess not rumpless. They do have a tail bone
