Best padding to put on hardwire cloth to protect tarps on chicken runs?

Could use any numbers of thing, corrugated cardboard would be my first thought.
But might depends on where it needs to be padded.
Got pics of HC and tarp to show the situation?

Chickens love styrofoam for some reason....I would probably not do that. Unless mine are the only styrofoam eaters?
