I am wanting to cross my Leghorn hens with a Rhode Island Red Roo. I put the leghorns in the RIR Pen 3 days ago. The Lhorns were in with a cuckoo Marans roo since I do not have a leghorn roo, and used the eggs for eating.

Question is: How long till the eggs will loose the cuckoo, and take on the RIR so I can collect and hatch? 3 days enough, or do they need more time??

Two weks, certainly not long enough. Three weeks, may be all right, but... Four weeks, you are safe.
