So we went to my new house and there was a chicken in the backyard just wandering I gave it some water and I petted it. It was very nice I was wandering at night time will it leave it will it roost in a tree thanks!!

Does anyone in your area have chickens? She might have wandered off - the fact that she is so docile makes me wonder if she is someone's pet. Would love to see a photo of her.

Depending on her breed she may not be a good flyer and wouldn't roost in a tree. She stands a high risk of being a victim of predators. Assuming you'd like to keep her, do you have some enclosed area she could be for the night, garage, shed, basement

I agree with DD. Keep her somewhere safe and ask around the neighbourhood to find out who's chicken it is.
