So today my flock was attacked right in front of me!!
we have a acre of land and my hens were all at the very end of the fence, my neighbors dog was also, at the end of the fence but was on his side, he somehow went under the fence and the attack begun.. My smallest bantam (lemon blue old english game hen) ran and flew all the way on the roof of the house. My biggest bantam (polish crossed with old english) ran away as quickly as possible but, my bb red hen tried to fly onto a tree but sadly Dident reach the branch and came back down , I went and grabbed a stick from the pyle of fire wood we have and ran to chase the dog away but during that time my bb red hen was getting attacked but Dident fight back she was getting tossed and thrown around the place. Until my biggest hen ran back towards the dog and started attacking it, she Dident do much besides stall the dog an the bb red hen tried flying away, I eventually got there before the dog had a chance to attack my biggest hen, the dog then ran back under the fence, my question is how come my hen Dident fight back instead she was just letting herself get attacked without fighting at all, luckily she Dident get major injuries just some feathers torn off I was wondering how come she Dident fight back!?
