I have had Ron and Harry for two weeks. I did T k ow at the time not to mix with chickens. They got sick and bother went through antibiotics to get bettwr. Now they are much better. So, is it wiser to leave them in the coop for a few more weeks before free range or is it better to get them put of the coop and free range now.

Harry got out the other day and never went far on his own and honestly just wanted to be back in with his buddy.

DH says to wait but I am nervous about them getting g sick again from the chickens.

What is the best for my peas?

2 weeks isn't long enough for them to reliably stay home. If you haven't wormed Ron, Harry, and your chickens, do it. The peas especially need to be wormed regularly unless you have a vet that can do fecals for you. It sounds like you could rotate letting Ron and Harry being out, leaving one of them in, as long as you are able to get them in at night. It would probably be a good idea not to introduce any new chickens until Ron & Harry are able to free range. The worry is that if you let them both out before they are imprinted (for lack of a better word) on your place as home, they may well take off for the wild blue yonder, especially as its mating season.

Okay thank you! I have wormed all of the birds as a precaution and Ron and Harry both went through 3 days of antibiotics.
