Hi all! My 5 week old Pekin lives with two 4 week khaki Campbell’s. Recently, he (or she) has had runny, dark brown poop (mostly made of water, with some large brown chunks, vivid i know) and he also has been sounding like he has a stuffy nose. I checked visually his nostrils, and he even let me lightly blow in them to make sure. Should i be worried? Or is this a typical Pekin?

Perhaps @Miss Lydia would have some advice. Do you have clean water for the ducklings to dip their bills into? What are you feeding?
I try to clean their water out as much as possible because i feel like they just keep getting it so dirty with bringing the food in their mouth into the water! I was feeding them a started crumble feed that i got from Tractor Supply, however i recently switched them to a different crumble yesterday because that’s what they had at my local feed mill.

I really know very little about ducks, but they do need a feed that is high in vitamins that ducks need. Niacin (vitamin B 3) is very important for leg health. Make sure that your feed isn’t too fine and causing the wheezing. A crumble is better. Many use chick starter for the first couple of weeks, but you will need to give some brewers yeast or B complex to the feed for their niacin requirements. Then. You can switch to a lower protein feed, but make sure to keep giving extra niacin. Here is some info about feeding ducklings I found:

Thank you so much for your help! You know, when you mentioned it, their food is a little dusty and may be causing the wheezing/sneezing!
