I’ve always dismissed this behaviour as something personality-wise but now that a couple of the eggs I was incubating turned out to be infertile I’m getting concerned.
My Light Sussex rooster (1 year old) likes to mount objects like bricks, stones, buckets and even the ground and “mates” with them in a sense? I see some... fluid left on them after he’s done.
Could this be affecting his fertility? Is it normal? I tried removing some of the objects he’d mount a while ago but he finds other things to mount or just uses the ground. He doesn’t do it too often but just occasionally.

. I'd just give it some time and see if he grows out of it. Not really sure what other option you have. As he matures more she should be more willing to submit and hopefully it all works out. You've certainly got a "special" little guy though
