Questioning the breed of my rooster, help please :)

Good photos...all I can say is what he is not...he is definitely not a White Leghorn nor Cornish Cross meat bird.

He is not a Cream Crested Legbar nor Crevecoeur

Split comb (which can just be a funk in any bird of pure blood but I think shows something else), crest, white legs, some black splashing or markings.

I'm pretty sure he is not a pure blood anything.

What is he? That is anybody's guess and it will be fun to see what others say.

I'm leaning towards mix of Cream Crested Legbar because the profile looks so similar to that plus I think I see some ghosting barring????....but that doesn't account for the white legs nor split comb.

Give me a full on shot to see his thighs and legs and I may add in Cornish too if he normally looks as stocky as the first photo batch....Cornish have pea comb, so a crest/pea comb mix might do some funk to the comb...I don't know the genetics on what that would do, but I've heard mixing pea and large single can give some funky combs the first generation, I can only imagine what adding crest as well might do.

Just guesses....he is a huge oops from the hatchery of rare breed with meat or white leghorn....or a very rare breed I do not know....so I will be watching to see if someone can say what.

[/IMG]I'm a new Mother Hen ,and since some of my eggs didn't hatch,I bought two at the local feed store. One looks like a Rhode Island Red ,but the other supposedly is a British breed. Love to know for sure, appreciate everyone's help, thanks in advance !

Here is a better picture of the one I would really love to know the breed

Could you have a well lighted full profile shot? That would help with identity.

Also, it is best to start your own thread otherwise it gets buried in responses to the original poster.

British breed could be a lot of things...where did you get the chicks....where do you live...knowing that could also help.
