Questions about a Little Tikes coop

Please show us pics of any that are in progress or finished

. I'll keep a look-out on this thread.

I would love to see any and all pics too! Thanks. And I will post mine as we start work on it, probably this week. I picked it up and it is in great condition. I'm hoping it will work through the winter, too....I am in Georgia and our winters are not terribly cold.

Will check out the garden cart....dh and I are trying to figure out the most cost effective way to put a run on it and mount it up a bit.

Sounds like a plan

When you say garden cart would that be one without sides so that you can lay the house flat on top of it?

We started out with one Little Tikes playhouse and my DH built a raised wooden base to provide shade and make it easier to reach in and "pick up" after the chickens (we started with 3). When we added 2 more, DH was gracious enough to "add on" and make our set up into a duplex. The girls (maybe one boy?!) still all sleep on one side on the perch (by choice) and we plan to put the nesting boxes on the other side and any food/water needed inside during bad weather. The windows line up and provide a "pass thru" so they can move from each house to the other when they are closed in the coop at night. Here are a few picture before and after the "add on"........ Hope this helps!!

. Great photos btw Thanks!

So cute! I love it. Some newbie questions so please excuse....what is in the blue container, food? Where is their water in the house? And did you attach a floor on to the house, or just on the table? Dh and I were thinking we probably should attach it to whatever kind of platform we do, but I wasn't sure. And I'm assuming you put them in at night and that's what the latch is for on the door.
We have exactly that kind so that's super helpful! I love the "condo" effect but sadly we are probably maxed at four chicks for our suburban yard.

This is our work in progress! There is hardware cloth on the windows, except for the one that's going to be the nest box and the one that will go down into the run. I need to put up roosts and get a new feeder and waterer. I did end up painting this with krylon fusion. It worked okay, there are some chips, but it was super easy and I will probably touch it up now and then.

azmoto girl, you all have done an amazing job with the playhouses. I never would have thought they could look so nice. The entire area is very organized, neat and clean. I just love that you have the umbrella for shade for them. Being in KY and experiencing some very hot days, I know how important it can be. Kudos for a job very well done! What kind of gravel have you used in the pen? How many chickens do you have in that area? Also noticed how neatly the screening was put up. Your dh does great work!
