My friend brought me a bunch of loquats from where she works because she knows that I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I kept a bunch of the seeds and dried them for about 2 weeks and planted them in pots out in the green house with all my other green babies. Question is, does anyone know how long it takes for the seeds to germinate and how old they have to be before they start to produce fruit?

As far as germination and growth, they take as long as it takes for you to say "to heck with this, I'm throwing them out".

THEN they sprout and grow fast.

Not sure about producing fruit, it was maybe 2-3 years????? They were pretty small and not much fruit, but really sweet!

pretty sure if you spit a few in the planters as you eat them, you will have a loquat forest shortly..............

I have grown them from seed and have been able to sell them in 5 gallon pots within 3 years.

~7 years and you will start to get a good crop of fruit.
