I bought 4 brown leghorn hens from a nice lady 4 days ago and the hens are about 1 year old . The first day I brought them home , they gave me 2 eggs , but nothing since . My thinking is its because of the stress and such from being moved and being in a new home and they need to settle in. But Im not sure . The lady I bought them from seemed real trust worth and honest. She told me they were laying good and I believe her . The hens seem real heathy , no signs of sickness and thier poop looks normal . Im just wondering what other peoples opinion is on why Im not getting any eggs . Thanks!

I agree with you. It is probably the stress of the move. A couple had eggs started through their internal egg making factory when you got them, but they have now stopped. If you changed the flock make-up (different number of hens than there were) they also need to sort out the new pecking order. I'd suggest a little patience until they feel comfortable enough in their new home to start laying again. It could be real soon or it could be a few weeks. With four brown leghorns a year old, you should eventually be very pleased.

Good .... thats what I was thinking . Thank you for the info

Ridgerunner is right; stress can wreak havoc on their laying. Could be up to a few weeks before they're comfortable enough in their new situation to be back to laying regularly. Hope they adjust soon
