Questions about new layers...

Hi everybody!
One of my girls just laid an egg at about 21 weeks... yeah!
She laid it at about 7:30 on Wednesday night...
When will she lay the next egg?
Also, will the other 7 girls start laying now seeing that she is?

Congrats! Mine have laid one nearly every day since they started, but I suppose it varies by bird. And no, I don't think that now the other chickens will start by seeing her. They will start when their bodies are ready for it. I have had one laying for a few months, but so far only one of the others has started laying. The others aren't taking the hint!

Normally a chicken lays an egg every 25 hours. I would not be surprised if she skips a day or eventually skips a day soon. When you get a morning egg the time will get later and later until she skips another day. Or she just may lay like crazy. They fo what they want. Congrats
