Do female polish get that forked comb? What about wattles? At what age can you tell the gender?

hens can get the v comb, but it is preferred to breed and show those without any comb or 2 very small bumps for a comb. if the hen is of a nonbearded variety she will develop wattles. in nobeardeds the males wattles will show up bigger and faster than the females.

I have a white headed blue that has comb bumbs starting. Think this is a roo? Wattles are starting but not red, neither is the comb. I believe the chick to be in the 8 week old range. All my chicks are different ages, Ican't remember exactly.

Hens typically begin to have visible redness and wattles when they are around or a little after laying time. But Polish hens are very late layers. Mine started at around 9 months.

My self white was hatched end of jan. She has no signs of red or wattles for that matter. However, her hatch-mate is already developing wattles, a comb and was attempting to crow just a few moments ago. We thought they were both girls, but surprise!
