Questions About Scratch

I bought my flock some scratch. I'm wondering if I need to mix it with grit before I feed it to them or if I'm just tossing it in the dirt that the dirt will act has scratch? Thanks for you help!

As long as they have gravel/small rocks available you shouldn't need to mix anything in with the scratch. If they don't have small pebbles available to them, it wouldn't hurt to throw some grit out with the scratch but I wouldn't mix it in.

If they free range,they should be fine. Every once in a while I will lead mine to the drive way and let them scratch there.
