Questions about the pekin breed

So I just recently found out about the bantam breed called the pekin and I am in love! I would like to know about the breed itself and if there are any noticeable crosses like a pekin chicken with a beard. Are pekin chickens just another name for an already existing breed like the cochin? I would love to know more!

Pekin bantams are knows as bantam Cochins in the US and Canada even though they are not actually a bantam version of Cochins, rather their own separate breed.
