Questions about turkeys

I have chickens and I have been thinking about getting some turkeys this year but I first need to ask some questions:

1. Are turkeys aggressive say like a gander is towards humans? I used to have geese and got rid of them because I couldn't see getting chased by the mean gander all the time. The only thing that gander showed fear of was my pygmy goats I had.

2. I saw a post where someone had another persons turkeys fly into their backyard. Is that normal for turkeys to fly out of their yards?

These may be dumb questions but I am trying to do some research to see if I really want to get turkeys or not. If I did I don't know if I should put them separate from my chickens or not especially if my rooster and a tom didn't get along. If I got turkeys I would either get some eggs to hatch or get them as poults. My daughter wants a turkey to raise but I don't know much about their temperment and such.

Hello, I have a RP tom turkey, who is just the best turkey ever... He sleeps with my chickens everynight and free ranges with them everyday, im sure he thinks he is a chicken lol. I had him from 5 weeks old, he gets on fine with all my chickens, the ones he grew up with and also the ones he has not, he never leaves the garden and goes everywhere the chickens go, I also have cockerals and no problems as of yet. He even sleeps on the floor of the coop as the cockerals take the high perch I put in especially for him, but he seems fine about it. He has never shown agression to me or my children, all he seems to do is follow us around untill we give in and give him treats lol. Turkeys are great and I would never be without mine

Yes, all varieties will fly when young. Heritage will continue to do so as adults (hens more than toms). They are more curious than aggressive, as a rule. Our experience has been a lot like teresa-78's (friendly/curious). Best to have a pair, at least. They are very social birds.

My tom stays home, but I have to fetch my hens every once in a while. Some toms are friendly, while others want to mame you. Depends on the tom.
