Hi. I had a hen that started having trouble walking. After a couple days, I separated her from the rest of the chickens because it appeared that one leg wasn't working. I thought she had an injury. She became worse and one eye became affected....it was half way closed but the other one was open. She had stopped eating and drinking so we culled her. After lots of reading, I thought maybe she had Marek's but I really don't know. It's been 12 days since her first symptoms started and none of my other four chickens are showing any signs or symptoms. Does that mean they are out of the woods, or could symptoms still show up. Also, is it safe to eat their eggs if they have been exposed. I'm pretty sure it is, but would like some reassurance. Thanks so much!

Here's a link for you to read about Marek's. Eggs are safe to eat and it is not transmittable to humans. It wouldve been best to submit your bird for necropsy to determine exactly what you were dealing with.
