Questions for those of you with free ranging peafowl

Here is Blue in front of his mirror. The cage door is open in the morning, so the other birds go out to free range, and Blue, who has been out roosting for the night- comes in to stand in front of the mirror..

Cute picture.
Mine never cared about the mirror I guess there are so many birds here they are not interested in looking at more

Oh Really! Maybe your right. I've always just maintained 1 male and other people I know, just keep 1 male, and they are all mirror hogs!
So, I love learning all the different dynamics that come into play with these birds. So Kathy, tell me, Blue is strutting and fanning for the mother and chicks(7days old) He's also fanning and dancing for the adult chickens. I'm down a peahen who died this winter

, so I don't know if he's used to more"action" and needs another hen at all times..., or if this is normal spring time/early summer behavior anyway.
Last year we had both peahens with chicks, but they were staggered 4 weeks apart, so I don't think he felt so neglected. I'm hoping to keep one of the female chicks to maintain 2 hens for him, which I though was just an option, but wondering if its actually a necessity.
