Questions for Woods-type Coop-ers

Just to be clear. I think most of us mean hardware cloth when we say screen the windows. Regular window screens will keep birds from passing through, but you need hardware cloth to protect against climbing preditors like raccoons.

Agreed......or in my case, 1/2" x 1" 17 gauge welded wire....but 1/2" hardware cloth will suffice most of the time.

Not only is the heavier stuff needed for protection, but normal window screen material will instantly clog up with dust or dirt and limit both air flow and light penetration.
