I got my first Pekin duckling a couple weeks ago, and while she's a lot of work I adore her. There are a few habits she's started that I just can't seem to break her of, the worst being diaper fights. Since she's growing so fast I've been sewing my own diaper harnesses based on popular duck products, they fit just fine but she won't stop biting at them! How can I get her to stop pulling at her diaper? I'm worried she'll do this when she gets older so I'm trying to get her used to them now, but she hates them
The other problem comes with sleeping, I can't leave her alone for even 5 minutes without her crying for me, so she comes with me everywhere. The only problem with that is that she doesn't want to sleep in her pen at night. She'll scream at me from the other roomif I try to go to bed without her, I leave we diaper off at night and I don't want poop all over my bed! I play her relaxing sounds, she has toys, a heating pad, and a big mirror but none of it gets her to calm down. The sound of her scared chirping breaks my heart, I want her to be happy but she has to sleep in her own bed. I know everyone will tell me that I need to get her a friend, but the house I'm living in is rented so I'm pushing it even having one.
