Questions meanings and differences of chicken words

Another question. Until what age do you say chick, and when do you start to say pullet or cockerel?
E.g. should I say young pullets with 2.5 months? Or can I still name them chicks til they lay eggs.
I'm not sure if it's correct but I stop calling them chicks when they're off the heat and fully feathered. They are then pullets and cockerels until one year of age.
 
Another language question:
My soil is a mix of two types of clay ground. In Dutch we have two names for the two types of clay:
One clay is a river clay you can use for making pottery (when clean) and making bricks in a oven. The other clay you can use for clay stucco and clay paint.
I have been thinking that adobe might be a good word for the clay stucco soil. But google translate doesn't translate this word.
All this talk about clay, dirt, soil, I don't like talking dirty.:duc
