Ok, so I finally found a lady somewhat locally that has started selling Ameraucana chicks.

She said they are from their own stock-which they just began last year, she said moms have "pheasant" coloring and are very beautiful and dad was a white ameraucana roo. Are they true Ameraucana or are they EE, either is fine with me?? Just wanting to know what color egg I should expect. She said her hens lay a blue or light blue egg. The chicks that are just hatched that I'm going to get she said are the brown coloring and don't look as though they will be white. I'm hoping since the chicks already have brown coloring...they won't turn out white, will they? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I have not even gotten into the genetics of everything yet. I'm just excited to get some more fuzzy butts...just want to make sure it's what I'm looking for before I drive up there though. TIA!!

I
would think that would mean EE , but look over the characteristics that make up
the two and see what you have when you see them in person, or ask her now. ie do they have peacombs, slate legs, bay eyes, muffs and beards, etc.
If it isnt one of the 8 varieties than it is either a EE or a mix of colors from pure parents. Even if they were pure(which it sounds like they are not) they would be mixed now.
If the hens are laying blue , the roo is still going to contribute to egg color. It sounds like there is a possibility blue or green eggs.
White chicks have yellow down, so no, brown ones wont turn out white.
