Bantam hen has been laying soft shelled eggs for the past 3 days, all breaking. She’s now lethargic and drinking an abnormal amount of water and barely eating. I’ve heard calcium citrate would help. Do any of you have brand recommendation? How much do I give her? Thank you… anything helps !

Here, one can just buy it from the local supermarket.
It needs to be calcium + D3 tablets. Once you have it, you can just gently pull on her wattles to open her beak, and then pop the whole tablet in.
I would normally do one tablet a day.
But if shes lethargic I'm thinking she might need antibiotics as well.
@Eggcessive @Wyorp Rock can you help?

How old is she? How does her crop feel—empty, full, soft and puffy, firm, or doughy? Can you check it again by early morning to see if it empties before she eats or drinks? Drinking a lot of water can be common with crop problems. Any brand of calcium with vitamin d3 will help, but the calcium citrate is the quickest absorbed. Tums can work.
