Questions on chickens!

Have you checked for mites or lice? I'd also be checking there poop for possible worms. Is there any that don't have feather loss?

How do you check for mites, and or lice? Sadly, no chickens have all of their feathers.

It may be feather picking if they are not molting or suffering from rooster damage. Watch them as they are out in the yard and on the roost when pecking can occur.

Yes, they do pick themselves, and other chickens. Would it just be best to start with a new batch?

Check for lice and mites, and treat with permethrin garden dust if that is the problem. Remember that feathers will nit grow back until they go through a molt which is yearly, the first rime around 18 months old. I would see if one is doing more of the damage and try some pinless peepers on the picker. Here is a link to read about them:
