I really want some kind of poultry that's not chickens, isn't noisy, sold on common online hatcheries, has a low minimum of how many you can get,has to be showy,or an egg-layer, or dual-purpose (but it can't be only for meat), and would also make really good pets like bantams would.

The pea cock is the best poultry and the one that have all the qualifications that you want its noisy, Extra-ordinarly elegant and has estauneshing feathers and a its a show bird and a COOL pet and can fly a bit and entertain you especially when he shows off with his tail feathers!!!!!!!!!! Its a royal bird reaally elegant and... a pet :) if you want eggs.... from anything but chicken... geese and ducks would be great... also guinea fowl are gorgeous... they lay excellent and are very broody and defensive, noisy, fly well, very bautyfull and showy!!!

Good luck lol. I don't know many ducks that are quiet, except the muscovy, and they don't appeal to everyone. Peafowl are noisy, but beautiful. Guineas are loud. Way loud. Geese are also quite loud.

What about Doves or Pigeons?

Try quails. The new world quails are quite showy. Some varieties of coturnix can be nice looking and are all great layers and meat birds. I have the standard jumbo brown, and they lay almost every day. I've eaten some of them too and are bigger than the supermarket quails. There are colored varieties of them that are showy, I have an italian pair and hatching more of their eggs this week. See my avatar for the jumbo brown. The italian pair is whiter.

Don't know about making good pets, but I'm sure someone else can fill that in. The coturnix don't need a lot of space. The males have a crow thats not too obnoxious so you can have a single male and a few females. They can produce fertile eggs for you to hatch for $, sell eggs for $, or raise and eat. Check the quail section for info about what you want to know.

For doves or pigeons you would need to purchase an adult pair or pairs; unlike chickens, turkeys, quail, etc., they do not eat on their own as babies, but are fed by their parents. There are many tyoes of gorgeous pigeons and doves.

Sebastapol geese are sweet, and less noisy than some other breeds,

Where did you get your quail online or a local place? I'm looking into them and I think I want to get some, but cackle hatchery and mcmurray hatchery have a minimum order of 100!
I don't want 100! I want 5-10! Is there a hatchery that sells a 50 or less minimum???
