I have a couple questions I've been on the new turkey 101 forums and looked at other people's post and can't seem to find all the questions in the same spot and that's if they are answered
I received 2 turkeys they are 7 weeks old. At what age will they start coming to you? Once they see me walk outside they run into a corner where I can't get into. Chickens come running and turkeys hide.
I have one that once I grab it and put it on my lap. It will sit there while I pet it but it will hiss at me a time or two but once I sit down with it, it doesn't want to run away but still hisses? Can someone tell me what that means?
I have the two with my 10 chickens, the chickens don't seem to bother them and I was told to feed them all "all flock" food. But where I live the all flock food comes in pellets and I can't see them eating that as it seems so big. Also I haven't seem them two turkeys eat or drink I've had them for 3 days now. It gets about 85-95 degrees here. I don't have a big space to move them out from the chicken area right now to keep an eye on them and them have enough space to roam.. at night time should I put them two in a 10 gallon plastic crate with food and water?
I've tried giving them watermelon, banana etc and they won't even open mouth. I put them to water and put becks in water and nope won't bother. I have marbles in there again nothing I'm afraid they are starving.
One of them keeps flying up on things when we I clip their wings. I know once they molt we will have to cut again but since they are still growing I didn't know if there was a time to cut and how early.
Also what age can you tell if you have a male or female.. I have one that is noticeable bigger than the other one the lady said it's a male and female but for me it's iffy no other characteristics.
