Ok so I think most of these things slipped my mind.

1. How old are hens when they lay eggs, or are adults.
2. What types of breeds are the most broody (besides silkies)
3. Are ameracuanas reallly broody
4. how do i make my hens go broody, ( I have a Black Star, 3 white leghorns, 3 golden buffs, and 3 australorps (they aren't laying yet)
5. How do i make one of my hens take care of my new 1 month old baby chickens. if possible please tell how.

Thanks the first one slipped my mind i think its 5-6 months old

Ok so I think most of these things slipped my mind.

1. How old are hens when they lay eggs, or are adults. you are right, 5-6 months, depending on nutrition and breed.
2. What types of breeds are the most broody (besides silkies) cochins, brahmas, heritage breeds, game breeds.
3. Are ameracuanas reallly broody - ameraucanas are araucanas mixed with another breed, its partially depending on the mix, but usually they are not broody.
4. how do i make my hens go broody, ( I have a Black Star, 3 white leghorns, 3 golden buffs, and 3 australorps (they aren't laying yet) unless you want to give hormones, there is no good way. sorghum may help, but not always. black stars, leghorns, golden buffs (golden comets) are typically not broody, australorps from a hatchery usually aren't broody, heritage bred australorps can be.
5. How do i make one of my hens take care of my new 1 month old baby chickens. if possible please tell how. there is no good way, their wanting to hatch and take care of eggs (broodiness) comes from a rise in the hormone progesterone. sorghum seed contains progesterone, but it doesn't always work.

Thanks the first one slipped my mind i think its 5-6 months old
