Just joined after lurking on and off for months. We have had chickens for years, but took a break for the last few. Our son adopted a lonely "pet" chicken last fall from uncle's flock, and then two naturally hatched chicks that were not accepted well either. After overwintering our orphans, we decided it was time for chicks again. Our new chicks are a mixed flock.
