I have a broody Buff Orpington who's chicks are hatching as we speak. But whenever I check, she is pecking at the hatching eggs and looks to be eating them, pulling at the babies, etc. One chick that hatched a day early died. She seems to be trampeling another hatched chic as well.

What do I do... move all the eggs, hatching and not, plus the hatched chicks inside to a brooder? If so, how warm. Or leave them?

Thanks!

hi
i lost 2 silkie chicks a few hours old without a trace. as the pen is very secure i can only think it was the mother. i'd be tempted to move them into a brooder but who knows what is really happening. my silkie cross broody pecked at her chick a bit but has proved an excellent mum. i hope someone with more experience than me chips in soon.
