i have here what started out as a chipmunk coloured chick, supposedly araucana but it looks nothing like the others!
anyhow he has of yet developed no comb, but has the long neck feathers that the other roo's seem to have.
any idea...roo or hen?
gonna go try and round him up for a photo....

a pic would be best. BUT you won't see much as far as comb development because they have pea combs which are very low profile. post a pic, I'm sure we could help you out

and also a quick Q about marans...do they have feathered legs and feet? (all my marans chicks do, yet out in the field i have a supposed marans hen, lays lovely dark eggs, but has no feathery legs?)

originally the marans were clean legged, now they are moving towards the french standard. My cuckoo marans came from breeders and are all clean legged. Is there a way to show the comb from the front on the EE? how old is the marans?

marans is nearly 5 weeks old

shall go get a front view on the other (is it an easteregger then?)

Not an Araucana - Araucanas don't come in that color, have no tails, and often have tufts. That's a crossbred called an Easter Egger, and a lovely pullet.

The Marans there is also a pullet.
