Quick question re ILT vaccine

And please allow me to add my apology. I love my birds. It pains me to see how people can be so arrogant as to ignore the needs of another just to shoot a helpful person down.

I had to learn the things I KNOW the HARD way. I am here to save others from that path. Could I please just be allowed to try?

I don't know, maybe it was a dead vaccine, I can't remember, I may've misunderstood what he told me. All I know is, the majority of our flock recovered, they are healthy and not carriers. WE have had several new birds since then and none have ever contracted ILT. We had advice and monitoring by some of the best veterinarians in the country, representing the Ohio State University school of agriculture. They supported our treatment plan and were a tremendous help besides.

I use the LT-IVAX vaccine. Yes, you have to do a booster in six weeks.

Yes you can put it in the nostril, it does take longer. You have to put one thumb over one nostril, hold the mouth shut and drop the vaccine in the other. When the bird breathes, the vaccine will be sucked into the nasal passage. This method does take longer than the eye drop.

The reason for not doing the eye drop method is because you can get reactions if your birds currently have upper respiratory infections or choryza (sp?). I haven't had any reactions to the vaccine.
