I know chickens hate change, but I need to add stuff to their coop to make way for new flock members coming next month: added roosting space, new nest boxes.

Here's my question: Should I add both at once or ease them in one addition at a time?

It's akin to the "ripping off a bandaid" question.

TIA.

I made all my changes at once. It wasn't too bad for them. I didn't see any drop in egg production and they all seemed fine.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I want to be done with it - LOL! But I also don't want the little darlings to mutiny.

I think as long as the flock is together, they aren't being moved to a different location and you aren't bringing in any new pullets, they can handle the kind of stress you are talking about pretty well.

Don't think it much matters either way.
