quick question..

You can give it water anytime. Just make sure it's not cold and that he can reach it without having to climb into the dish. He probably will anyway, so marbles or rocks will keep him from drowning. You want to feed him chick starter crumbles maybe tonight or tomorrow, as much as he wants. You can poach or hard- boil an egg and mash it up for him until you get some. Don't fry it in oil. My feed store only sells chicken feed in 50# bags. They had a real good laugh when I brought my lone chick in for some food! Maybe they have a broken bag they can sell you. Your chick will need company to be happiest, maybe your local Freecycle network can help you out.

super cute! Lots of colors! Yeah, he'll need a bigger area so he can find the spot with the right temperature.

okay sounds good but to be honest i don't think my parents will let me get another im surprised they let me keep this one. Would he be happy if i just spent alot of time with him? will he get depressed without a mate?

yea im building him a better environment today i just wanted him to last the night:) he is in a shoe box right now with a lamp over hanging one side so he can move as close to or as far from the heat as he wants until i finish his box im trying to find a place to by feed

WOW! That is so cool! What a sweet little guy! You did a great job!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell your parents that having another chick won't really be much more of a mess or cost. And more eggs! This is how I rationalize having chickens to my husband:
They make me happy.
We live in the middle of nowhere and it keeps me busy.
We make/save more money on eggs than their food costs.
Our children are learning about sustainability.
We have the privledge of knowing where our food comes from.

Congrats!

I'm sure your chick will be okay without a friend his size, but he'll need to learn about all the chicken games, like "pick up the stick and run around with it." While mine was an only child, he spent a lot of time on my shoulder, screaming in my ear or getting tangled in my hair. Just be sure to put a towel under him if you want to stay clean!

kay thanks he seems really healthy but he doesnt like eating i have to hand feed and water him lol.. one thing concerns me he cant walk properly yet i dunno if that will be fixed in time or not but he doesnt fully uncurl his feet when he walks is that normal?

what kind of chick is it? i read your other post and i thought you said this wasn't a chicken chick?
